waiting, thoughts pending

Hello my lovelies. I guess almost a month later would be a good time to update you all...

I don't know if my timestamps are correct here, but I'm starting this post at 12:36 a.m. You know what the means to me? That means, in roughly 40 hours I will be with my Mike after three months. Three long-ass months. Where is he? Minnesota. Where am I? Massachusetts. 1,386.31 miles too far apart. I mapquested it. He's doing who-knows-what with a router at work right now so here I am. I probably won't exist for the next week or so (for it is Spring Break and I am his as long as I'm there) -when I come back I will tell you all about my adventures, maybe even misadventures. Camera will be in tow.

What else has gone on? Life has been pretty routine. Classes. Work. Homework. 2 hours sleep. Repeat. Two new things in my possession (one mentioned, the other not): 1. Google Chrome and 2. the new Alkaline Trio CD "This Addiction". Google Chrome is still pretty new to me. I used it religiously for a week to explore it but I'm writing this on Firefox so our browser-relationship may have ended prematurely. It's simple, runs smoothly, but I'm stuck in a habit. Now, This Addiction is another story. I'm absolutely nose over tail for it (shameless Alkaline Trio pun). I bought the Deluxe Version or whatever they call it; how could I refuse? and now have bonus tracks and a DVD containing a full-length performance. It's brilliant. All of it. You should buy it. <- I don't do the typical music reviews because every one has heard it before. Personal review- I'm particularly fond of one of the bonus tracks called "Those Lungs" simply because of this line "When I get home Ill keep you up for hours" is pretty relative to my life right now. I'm positive you can find the entire album on YouTube if you don't want to buy it right away. It's cheap and amazing so I wouldn't see why not but here's the track I just mentioned...

I'm writing again, which is absolutely amazing. I feared my hands were losing their creativity. They also busted out a nice little drawing the other night. I'm surprised. My writing however is a little one-track in the subject matter...trying to shake that. I'm actually now off to listen to that album because I need something to sing along to. Turn it up fuckin' loud.

Belt it out.

vague passion

It's only Tuesday.

If you're having a bad day fucking tell me about it, if there's some douchebag at work not pulling his weight I want to know, if you can't pay your bills because the economy sucks fucking scream about it...just don't be a fucking vague bastard. Maybe that's just me but I'm tired of people taking the easy way out. If you're going to fucking rant, do it right! and if you're not comfortable spilling your life, why bother even telling us the vague details? If I ask you how you are, I'm not some asshole that will walk away before the answer. I want to know the good with the shit. So spill it. And if you don't want to honestly know exactly how I am doing because my answer is too long don't fucking ask.

In other news, yes it is only Tuesday and it feels like it should be Friday, or at least these two days have been longer than life. I'm in the middle of figuring out next semester and I'm trying to work in some writing classes into my schedule so I can have an outlet. I miss having a writing class...correction: a creative writing class [I'm currently in Literary Analysis and that is NOT an outlet].

What else? I finally bought the Dope album "No Regrets". It came out back in March and I've been eying it and honestly, forgetting about it for a few months. I'm obsessed with one song called "Dirty World" because it's just that, dirty, and I fucking love it. I love Edsel's sexual style and the lyrics...some Dope songs just sound like sex. You'd have to listen to know. I'll leave the "Dirty World" song at the end of this post. As an album as a whole, there isn't a song I skip when listening to it, so that's some good shit right there. Get on it.

Man, what a mouth I have in this post. My vocabulary must be feeling a little vulgar tonight.

That's all I have for you tonight. I'm too busy putting off my life to really get into a post. I did, however, put up a new entry on napalm dreams & little things earlier and have another dream to post but I might get to that tonight. I also got a book in the mail that should be absolutely, brilliantly mind-numbing and leg-paralyzing. I'll talk a little more about it in my next post, granted I get into enough.

Until next time, go listen to some Dope and break something.
Love,

Salt & Tylenol: Weekend Wizardry

First I would like to say RIP Frank McCourt. Frank passed away today at the age of 78 from Meningitis. Within all his amazing writing, he has written two of my favourite books. He is one of the inspirations that has kept my pen moving and it's a sad day for your humble narrator. "The sky is the limit. You never have the same experience twice." - Frank. Now here's to tonight's blog...

Добрый вечер, Buenas noches, Good evening...

Sorry you're getting this post so late lovelies. I'm finally shaking this headache/pain in my brain that I have had for the past, oh, 26 hours. Finally feel like a human being again. My computer also took a 3 foot drop off of my bed about an hour ago and I had to pop a piece back into place, so a small heart attack also threw me off posting.

As I expected, this weekend is what I needed. Friday night, had a great dinner at Chicago Uno's and caught a movie at 7:30. After the movie we headed to the beach to run around in the dark waves and just be with all the late night people out on the sand until about midnight or so. We even had a pick up footy game with a wiffle-ball we found floating the waves.

Can you guess what movie I saw? Bet not. I saw Harry Potter.

I know that's not like me, but a friend and I went to see the 6th installation of the Potter series: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. And to tell you the truth, it was pretty bad ass. I mean, yes it's wizards and knee deep in the fictional world but I like the movies. This is coming from someone who read the first two books when she was 9 and quit after that. Dumbledore has a pretty kick ass scene as well that had me yelling "You're the fucking man!" in the theatre. The acting is improving as the main characters age and has more serious underlying stories than when they were the cute mini-wizards of years past. I still can't stand looking at Daniel Radcliffe - I apologize to all the fangirls out there but there's something about him that bothers me. Although, the part where he drank the Luck potion (whatever it's name was?) and he was going to see Hagrid (spelling?) absolutely had me rolling on the floor. Hilarious. All in all, a pretty good movie and I'd see it again.

Now, in theme of Harry Potter, there is another movie I would like to see. Cherrybomb. Rupert Grint, the actor who plays Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, also stars in this independent film that we may never get to see. So here is the trailer, it speaks for itself, instead of me giving you a synopsis. And if you want to see it, or just want to make me happy, help it get distributed in the U.S. or your home country by signing a petition to get it out there @ http://www.rupert-grint.us/wordpress/cherrybomb-distribution-campaign/

Cherrybomb Trailer

Well that was a long post. Thanks for sticking around through it all darlings. I'm off to watch Snatch and finally listen to some music now that my head is letting me. Hopefully I'll be seeing you tomorrow with some more news...

Where's your head at?

Shiver me timbers!

Well hello…

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I have to apologize for that one. Things have been a bit crazy around here. I got back to campus on Sunday (Jan 18th) and it's just been chaos pretty much since. I'm taking some time out from writing a paper, while I'm in the quietness of the lounge, to throw a few words your way.

Classes have started this week and not as happy with them as I was last semester. I'm undeclared and have a lot of possible majors/minors floating around in my head...so this semester was pretty much dedicated to General Education requirements and two interest classes. I'm continuing my study of Russian (by the end of this semester I'll have one year under my belt)...so if you feel like speaking no-russki to me, give it a shot.

Other than that, I've been contemplating the future. What a natural thing to do right? Exactly, and that's pretty much where I've been. I'm looking for a direction in my life but I'm not really searching all that hard. Sticking to one thing seems to me like I failed somewhere or I settled so picking a mode of studying, well that's going to be a difficult one for me.

One thing that pisses me off is almost every college student has someone telling them what to do. I think we should all invest in megaphones and set up a day to give a loud, resounding "fuck off" to a bunch of people. Sounds good to me, sound good to you? I mean come one, since we were in middle school people have been talking about the "after high school" time period and it's kind of like "Ok, I'm here. You pushed me here, now let me figure out shit for myself."

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have HELP...when of course it is actually help and not someone telling you what you should do with your life and scramming shit down your throat.

On the bright side, I enjoy being back on campus for the most part. I've missed my friends and the people I live with the most...if I could just spend a bunch of time on campus without anymore obligations (ha ha!) that would be amazing.

I start work again (like a job work not class work) on Monday. I'm not feeling it. Not at all. If I didn't have work/study that required me to work on campus or at a nonprofit organization, I'd just forget it all and work a typical mall job or at Rite Aid or something.

Just live your life people. I love you.

Here's lookin' at you kid,
