Lyrics of the Day haha

"Freeze Up"
Operation Ivy

Empty factories to the east and all our waste
The shape of things that came shows on the broken workers face
To the west you'll find our silicon promised lands where
Machines replace our minds for systematic profit plans
The course of human progress staggers like a drunk
Its steps are quick and heavy and its mind is slow and blunt
I look for optimism but I just dont know
Its seeds are planted in a poison place where nothing grows

[Chorus]
It's 1989 stand up and take a look around
Weathers bitter tension it seems is sinking down
Drunk with power and fighting one another
Every hour shows the winter getting harder
There's a freeze up coming... [ad libs]

One nation stands the tallest radiating blinding light
Plastic and fluorescent energy robbing us of sight
Set in our way content with our decay
We wave the flag of freedom as we conquer and invade
Ever ask yourself where's my place in this hell
But no ones there to tell you cuz they dont know that themselves
The well rehearsed lines from our elated politicians
No longer offer solace we can see the self destruction

[Chorus]

Just one political song, just one political song
to drop into the list that stretches years and years long
[x2]

Static and division is increasing like a storm,
we are shelter, we are forewarned,
nothing can be changed except ourselves,
nothing can be changed except ourselves,

There's a freeze up coming... [ad libs]

Just Another Saturday; Boredom, Beverages, & UFC 75

Hey-o

It's about 9pm this typical Saturday. I'm sitting in my friends bed while she is away in her college dorm, or not...maybe out with them boys ha ha. Laying back, I'm enjoying a diet coke with lime that I'm surprised I even like -first glass ever ha ha. I'm not one to drink a lot of carbonated beverages.

Tonight is the night of UFC 75: Champion v. Champion and I'm most definitely watching at the moment. The only thing I dislike about this as well as boxing is that you have to wait through many fights to get to the one you watched for in the first place. Tonight I'm not watching for this big unifying belt of pride and ufc - I want to see Bisping v Hammil. This is going to be a challenge for the Count and I want to see him continue his undefeated record by KO or TKO tonight.

This blog is going to be continuous because I have to sit here until the fight. Also fighting tonight is Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović who I would also like to see walk away with a victory. Now I'm a very technical MMA fan, I watch it for pure enjyment hoping the fighters I support come out on top in these fights.

What am I doing here on a Saturday night? Staying in, yes. I know...she must have no life. Right? It's not lie that. I'm just getting into the groove of things with my friend that I spent my weekends moving away. I'll probably be online most of tonight....thi isn't even my computer. This is someone else's laptop, someone else's bed, phone connection, cup I'm drinking ou of, coke i'm drinking...haha it's not mine! Any of it!

Another thing about it being 9:30 on a Saturday night, no one is online to talk to sadly. There's 2 or 3 regulars I converse with and I'm missing them right now....haha. Kind of a slow day, ya know? Mike, Smurph, ...where are you guys? :( Well hope you're having some fun. There's only so much you can do on MySpace and the internet. Well, I'll check in from time to time...and also to let you know the fight results- of the big fights that is. I'm not paying that close of attention to the undercard although I am watching them.

I didn't know Paul Taylor was fighting tonight. Let's see how he does against "the Irish Handgrenade." Win given to Marcus Davis by Submission: Armbar. Damn.

Every time I see that Shoot'em Up trailer, I kind of want to see it.

And now for Mirko v Kongo. Let's see that highlight reel style head kick KO! Definitely interesting fight, hope you watched it. Win given to Cheich Kongo: Unanimous Decision. Damn.
For the fight I really care about, Michael Bisping v Matt Hammil. I'll stick around for the other fights but this is THE fight for me. Can' type now, must....watch...Bisping :) He seems a bit cocky/comfortable tonight haha but I love him. So much anticipation I had for this. End of first round and my heart is going...You can see why people have waited for this fight, be back next round. Bisping needs to step it up. If you haven't watched it -you must!
Win given to Michael Bisping; Split Decision NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson v Dan "Hollywood" Henderson

Not going into details...Unifying belt UFC/PRIDE Lightheavyweight Champion. Win given to Quinton Rampage Jackson;Unanimous Decision

Take care my friends,

-Napalm

A Weekend

Well, I helped a friend move into her dorm this weekend. And traveled, to and from time, about 9 hours. I'm tired, bruised, and sick off of fast food -but I'd rather be like this than stuck with her roomie. I'm sorry, I hope you two can adjust.
College, what a life eh?

Take care.

Yesterday Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed his retirement from the greatest football club on earth, Manchester United. Nothing I can say would do justice to the 11 wonderful years Ole has served our club. What I can say, is Thank You. Now possibly set in a coaching position at Old Trafford? I hope so. But the real question is, WHO PUT THE BALL IN THE GERMAN'S NET?

Featured Quotes

At my house, I like to type up a few quotes -as many that fit on a piece of computer paper and leave them on the fridge until I type up some more. Here are the new ones I just put up.

-Robert F. Kennedy

“Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after.”

-Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.”

-Ellen Parr

“Happiness is different from pleasure. Happiness has something to do with struggling, and enduring, and accomplishments.”

-George Sheehan

“When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man.”

-Anthony Burgess

“When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, You will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.”

-C.P. Snow

“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.”

Finally, someone in the paper has realized something

I would just like to say I was glad to read this article in the Boston Metro yesterday. I enjoyed it particularly because I am in the age group of which they are speaking of. It reflected some of my values, I was surprised. Just check it out.
The title reads as Poll:Happiness is...
Read top as first half and bottom as second/continuance.
Thanks.

Commercials

I never thought commercials could depress a person so damn much. Well I can't say I fell into a clinical depression, just didn't feel that great you know? Seems like commercials are so short-lived but yet so ...so... well seems like life is just so picture perfect. I know that's the magic of television showing us what we want...not always....but you get the idea.

Now I remember why I don't like watching television....I'm susceptible to complacency.

Alrighty. That's all for now my friends.

Take care.

Substance: The Acceptance

Drugs suck.
That's this whole blog being boiled down to two words, but if you want -please continue with this blog.

I really can't see why people get into drugs "just to get into" them, if that makes any sense. I know it must be difficult to end an addiction but it's pretty simple to say no in the first place. Some people are going to look at this blog like I'm just another straight-laced kid who doesn't know what she's talking, "Who the fuck gave her the right to judge MY life?" My family gave me that right, my childhood gave me that right. I lived in the section 8 supported, kept on welfare, bugs in the cabinets, dog shit on the carpets, hellhole apartment because a kid like me is too young to get work and the people supposedly raising that child is too lazy , looking to get high, sleeps until 6 p.m., has a junkie asshole boyfriend, and won't keep a home together. Then there's the missing: jewelry, game system, DVDs, CDs, money in birthday cards, and family heirlooms. The water or electricity is shut off because th bill isn't paid. The cops show up and know you by name because of all the "public disturbances." The savings looks a little low because someone decide to bail out your aunt or uncle without asking for your permission but you're too young to understand. BEFORE you got approved for food stamps you had to decide whether bread or toilet paper was more important.

There is so much shit, so much baggage that goes a long with such a lifestyle. No not everyone will end up like this but I bet a good majority of people who say "yes" will travel down this path once or twice. I just want people to think a little more about the future even if I say I'm all about the here and now, maybe looking ahead every once and awhile isn't so bad.

Lots o love.
Take care.

Weekend

Well, all I can say was that it was a quiet weekend and I most definitely enjoyed it. There was thunder and lightning outside, warm outside cool inside- cool enough for me to use a blanket ha ha. My friend and I spent quite a bit of time playing Mancala. I forgot how to play and she taught me again, I didn't realize that such a simple game could be so addictive or enjoyable. All in all, a good weekend.

Take care.

Set Off A Spark

I watched a video on the net today (which I take no credit for) that got me thinking. Now it's nothing too philosophical - you know, how humans are the dangers to themselves or what we can do to save the ecosystem. It was simply a musician talking about his life, what he loves, where he comes from and I just wanted to say it's amazing how one musician can touch the life of some kid he may never even hear of during his time on this earth. Listen to what he says...think about it. I feel where you're coming from Tim, thanks for remembering us. And thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day to spend it with me. I'll never forget.

Take care.

Punks Not Dead: The Movie

Highly recommend for the punk and any other human being ha ha. A genre with so much history and bullshit controversy must make a grand ole film. Now I say bullshit controversy because of things such as What is a real punk? And as you will hear Tim Armstrong say in PND "Who am I to say who is and isn't a punk. I know I'm a punk...." Hopefully I'll be seeing it when sometime in Cambridge, Ma. Maybe I'll see ya there.

Attraction

Last night was another example of how people are attracted to the horrific. Looking up my street last night you could see a group of people congregating on the corner. Asking someone passing by if they know what's going on, "Some kid is getting his face kicked in."
In a not so accurate description, that's what was going on. People from my own house decided to join the spectators bringing back the story. He took on 3 Puerto Ricans, he's soft in the head, he was sitting in the back of the ambulance with bloody gauze taped to his head, the blood was on the windows, some kids ran, they had the k-9 unit, he stole a spike from our yard to defend himself and ended up getting his head cracked with it...so on and so forth. Really why would you want to gawk at this? But then again I like horror movies, so who am I to say.

Take care everyone.

The First

I must admit that yes this would be my first time posting to a site simply dedicated to those who blog. However this would not be my first time actually writing one. And for you to be fairly warned, as hard as I may try, I'm also negligent on the upkeep of profiles like these. Now to me a blog is somewhere I can ramble and not be required to write you a novel to be consider a 'blogger'....so expect ramblings, yes. That's why it's not so cleverly named disparate aggregate .

In not so much detail, today is exactly 11 days since I returned to the U.S. after what was about a 9-day excursion. Traveling in a group I met some interesting people not only from here in Boston but as well as from: San Diego CA, Knoxville TN, South Carolina, and Nashua NH. We spent most of our time in the Republic of Ireland where the trip began. We spent time in Killarney, Waterville, Cork, the Ring of Kerry, Dublin and I'm sure some other places we didn't bother to get the names. After our time in Dublin we took a ferry to the country of Wales(I love Wales). We didn't stay long but we did happen to visit Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch (translates to
"The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave"). Even though our hotel wasn't top class I have by far some of the best memories from our short time there. Next we began our drive into England, most definitely passing through many English towns that I couldn't name. Stopping in Stratford-upon-Avon we did some typical tourist-like things (another town I enjoyed quite a bit, had myself a wonderful lunch ha ha). With many things gone unmentioned our time came to an end in London where quite a bit happened. To recall so much would be tiresome but when I get my pictures I will share a whole lot more.

Take care.
